The Heinävesi route is also among the most valuable landscape areas nationwide, offering an almost natural lake landscape, where human footprints are limited to historic canals and idyllic village landscapes.
Heinävesi route
The Heinävesi route connects Kallavesi and Haukivesi. The route starts from Kallavesi, passing through Vehmersalmi to Suvasvesi and Varisvesi, which are connected by the Karvionkoski rapids. The large backwater area in the central part of the lake borders the surrounding labyrinthine archipelago.
